Yang Liu () is an international award-winning Chinese classical violinist and professor of violin at Roosevelt University School of Performing Arts in Chicago.〔http://www.kuhmann.com/YangLiu/〕 Yang was born in Qingdao, China, in 1976. He began studying under Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing at the age of nine. At ten he received an invitation to play Sarasate's Zigeunerweisen vvith the NHK Orchestra in Tokyo. Later he studied with Dorothy DeLay and Kurt Sassmannshaus at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati.
